Remove the stains on the surface
There are both chemical and natural processes to remove the stains from the surface of your mattress. Prepare a mixture of liquid dish soap, baking soda and hydrogen peroxide and collect it in a spray bottle. Spray this mixture on the stains and dry with a clean rag.
Make a paste of lemon juice and salt and apply the same over the stained areas. Leave it standing there for an hour and then wipe it down with a clean rag. For fighting tough odors, you can sprinkle baking soda and leave it sitting there for a few hours. This can also be useful to absorb the excess of liquid used for the stain removal process and also the oil, sweat and other liquids that had got soaked into the mattress. After a few hours have passed, you can vacuum up the baking soda making sure that you remove off all the excess powder from the crevices.
Flip the mattress
If you have used the mattress for a while and sleep on the same side of the bed every night, possibly the bedding might wear down unevenly. This can lead to a troubled sleep and can even cause neck or back pain. An easy way to freshen up the mattress is to flip it so that you will feel as if it is a brand new one.
