According to the CSA Order no. 11/2012 on the procedure for resolving petitions regarding the activity of insurers and insurance intermediaries, Insurers in Romania are obliged by ASF to display on their own sites the number of complaints made by insured persons and damages to their address. Many companies, however, do not comply with this provision.
Total number of petitions, total number of substantiated petitions, number of substantiated petitions regarding damage files: total number of petitions for which the damage files were paid, total number of petitions completed unfavorably, these are the information that each insurance company it should display them on submission sites to ensure transparency in how petitions are registered and resolved.
The CSA order also mentions that the information on complaints ” will be updated in the first 5 days of each month ” and that ” no other information or advertising messages will be published on the page “, and non-compliance with the provisions is considered a contravention.
City Insurance, Uniqa Asigurari, Groupama, Gothaer, Metropolitan Life and Credit Europe Asigurari are the six companies that do not comply with the CSA order in the sense that yesterday, October 6, the information published on the site reflects the petitions for August, although the data update for September passed. At Allianz-Tiriac, only the monthly information was updated, not for the period from the beginning of the year, and at CertAsig the last information was updated in March, this year. At Fort Asigurari, the CSA order was completely ignored, as the petition status page does not even exist.
There are also companies that have created a page for petitions, but which include information for advertising purposes. For example, on the websites of Astra, Carpatica or Generali, information about home insurance, CASCO and RCA appears on the petitions page.
