Art Deco is the answer to all those nagging doubts people have about going with the “modern” look in their home lighting design. Sure, there are a lot of attractive modern-looking lamps out there (including some very high end pieces), but have you ever considered stepping back a bit and going with an Art Deco lighting design? There’s a certain something about the styling of Art Deco lamps that seems to draw people in and get them into a truly relaxed and enjoyable “have a look around” mood. And it’s not just the style and the look of the lamps themselves, but their unique construction as well. This article is going to take a quick look at some of the unique features of Home Art Decor lighting, and I’ll also explain why they are so popular.

The first thing to understand about Art Deco lamps is that they were never “just” lights. They had other uses, and you can explore them when you get a good Art Deco lamp. For instance, a great Art Deco lamp can act as a ceiling fixture, with the lights projecting an abstract or floral design up and out of the ceiling. Or it could be a wall light, with a focus on a particular art work – a painting perhaps.

Art Deco lamps can come in a variety of styles, depending on the artist whose work they are. In fact, the style varies from era to era, as different artists worked on their lamps. Art Deco lighting is most often associated with the Art Deco movement of the 1920s up to the end of the Great Depression. There are several collections out there of lamps and figurines that display the Art Deco movement. One of the most popular types of Art Deco lighting is what is commonly referred to as “copper Art Deco lighting”.

Copper Art Deco lamps are a distinctive type of Art Deco lighting that is primarily used in the decorative industry. In these lamps the base is made of copper – often decorated with motifs and carvings. The light bulb is also encased in copper – sometimes with brass or gold trim. Some copper lamps have a shiny chrome finish, while others are oil rubbed and then given a copper sheen. This finishes give the lamp’s an antique look.

Another form of Art Deco lighting is that of the Futura style which was created by the Art Deco Society in Los Angeles. This style was created during the Art Deco period and features vertical lines and geometric shapes, often using fish-shaped cuts. Although the style has fallen out of favor somewhat due to the advent of more modern designs, it still remains in use in some high-end furniture.

Art Deco wall sconces were a major feature of the Deco interior design and they remain popular. Wall sconces are often used as night lights or over mirrors to add light to a room. These are perhaps the most identifiable Art Deco lamp because they are so unmistakable. Sconces do not actually use electricity; instead they use candle-holders that have been encased in glass. Each glass is encased in a lead sleeve so that the candle-holder does not get tipped over and burn the glass.

Art Deco lighting can also be found in modern interior design and there are many examples of this. One of the most common types of Art Deco lighting is a combination of fluorescent and electric light. This type of lighting uses colored light tubes filled with mercury vapors. The lamps themselves were introduced into the market by the Futurists in the 1920s. The earliest designs were not very pleasing by modern standards but as more innovative technology evolved, the Art Deco style became more appealing to the public.

There are still many modern designs of Art Deco lighting, mainly influenced by Art Deco paintings. You will find many reproductions and re-badges of these lamps throughout the world. Modern designers often take their influences from the Art Deco lighting of the time. However, you can find some genuinely unique modern lamps that are completely original. It is quite possible to find modern designs that will fit into any room’s decor.
