How to Apply for a driving licence online 

There are no considerable efforts to get yourself a driving licence in Punjab. The method is simple; all you have to do is go to DLIMS and press apply now. There DLIMS will provide you with documents that you will need to visit any driving licence centre. You will find the complete registration requirement online. 


There are specific ways you can apply for a Punjab driver licence. Since every procedure can be done online, it has become easier for you to check these various ways. There are forms online on the DLIMS (Driving License Issuance Management System). This is a great automated system that you can visit online. You can download the forms from the website to be filled in. Before you call any centres in Punjab for your new licence renewal, you have to download those documents from the website and take them along with you to those centres. 


How To Verify Your Licence

There is an option for you where you can add your CNIC number on the portal. Once you have entered your CNIC number on the portal, the website will provide complete information regarding that CNIC number. It will also tell you the dates on which the licence was delivered and on which date the licence will be expired. This is how you can check and verify your licence online through DLIMS. 

Age Limit For Learner Permit 

  • Motor Cycle/ Motor Car: 18 Years
  • LTV (Rikshaw, Taxi, Tractor Commercial): 21 Years
  • Note: Learner permits are issued daily whose Validity is of 6 months.


Note: Vehicle owners in Punjab can now carry digital copies of driving licenses and registration certificates

Document That You Would Need 

For Learners Licence

  • A copy of your CNIC
  • A Ticket of Rs.60 from any post office.
  • A codebook of traffic rules & regulation from the Traffic Police Office
  • A medical certificate

For Permanent Licence 

  • Original learner’s permit of at least six weeks
  • Application form available on DLIMS
  • Medical certificate
  • Three passport size photographs 
  • A copy of CNIC

For Duplicate Licence 

  • One filled out a duplicate application form
  • A copy of CNIC
  • Two attested photographs
  • FIR from the police station
