Creed Aventus: The King of Fragrance is one of those wonderfully complex, luxurious and totally unisex fragrances that Creed Company has come up with. For someone who appreciates strong fragrances and has an extensive collection, this is one of those rare finds that will change the way you think about fragrances forever. In my case, I tend to feel a sense of gratitude for finding a fragrance which allows me to relax and enjoy life to its fullest again. For many people, however, they will immediately recognize that Creed Aventus will turn out to be the best selling fragrance in the world.
Creed Aventus is basically dominated by floral notes such as gardenia, lavender, lilac and rose. It does not have any wood notes and it really doesn’t smell like a floral fragrance. In fact, you can clearly identify it as a male fragrance. This can be really off-putting for most women who are used to having scents that remind them of feminine toys or flowers.
The way I smell a good fragrance is by holding the scent close to my nose and then breathing in slowly. Most men do this when they are walking towards a woman – sniffing her scent, if you will. It can also happen when you’re engaged in a phone conversation with your lover. You can almost smell her lips!
Creed Aventus manages to combine different notes very well: sandalwood, vanilla, musk and rose are all present in varying degrees. I was actually very apprehensive about putting this on as I’m not particularly a huge fan of musk or vanilla but these elements were beautifully balanced with the floral notes. In fact, one of my first thoughts was that the scent had been prepared by smoking a blend of sweet vanilla and rose petals. It took a few minutes for the aroma to settle down, which is a definite plus point because it makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a living, vivid paradise.
While this fragrance could be considered a feminine fragrance, it isn’t overtly so. Its slightly spicy nature (which I love) makes it more attractive to those with an adventurous type of fragrance. It has a very sexy aroma which appeals to men who don’t want to be too ‘manly’ whilst still maintaining an appreciation for ladies.
This is definitely a great fragrance to add to any wardrobe. It’s not too bold or too subtle. It has a very pleasing mix of natural fragrances which gives it longevity which I love. So, if you’re looking for a great, long lasting, strong smelling Cologne which also smells like a lady’s perfume, then the Creed Aventus is a winner!
